Pray for Virginia Tech & Police

Greetings,
While I was out I received a call from Brother Bryson, who is a chaplain for his local police department in the Christiansburg/Blacksburg area, requesting prayer for the situation at Virginia Tech where shots had been fired.  By the time I got home a few minutes ago, the news was reporting that a police officer has been shot dead as well as another unidentified person.   At this point, 3:15 pm, the national news networks are reporting that the suspect is still at large, the State Police have taken over the investigation, ATF is on the scene, and the lock-down of the campus, as well as the county schools in the area, continues.
Please pause and pray that no one else will be hurt, pray for the safety of the police and first responders, EMTs, and others, pray for the family and friends of the police office and the other person who were killed, pray for the students and personnel of Virginia Tech, and pray for Brother Bryson as he seeks to be God’s presence to the police and families.  Pray also for the shooter, that he will not hurt anyone else and that he will surrender himself to the police for his own benefit, as well as the benefit of everyone else.

Yours & His,
DED
